With the annual Spring Splash River Race quickly approaching, firefighters training in swift water rescue techniques took the water this week in preparation. Firefighters from Hazardville, Thompsonville, Enfield, North Thompsonville, and Somers honed their rescue/recovery skills at the Scantic River Park during their Special Operations Drill.

For this year's race, firefighters from Hazardville, Thompsonville, Enfield, and Shaker Pines will be joined by Tolland County's Swift Water Rescue Team. The race will be held on March 31st, starting in Somersville and ending at Scantic River Park on North Maple Street.
